A modern tale, a story of female entrepreneurship.
Born in post-war Italy, in the poor South, a young and courageous woman opens her first corner shop in a village of not even 1000 souls.
Giovanna, or as everyone called her Nina, with love and great passion manages her business which in a short time becomes the only point of reference in the village and where she proudly also raises 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
La Nina Caffe’ & Mercato in London, was born with the same purpose: to bring quality and, above all, that approach to customer service which made every visit to La Nina special.
The founder of the project is the eldest niece, Monica, who learned to sell, communicate, create relationships, in that magical place of Nina's shop, and she now is eager to recreate that atmosphere at the moment online through her exquisite e-commerce, and in her first store on Isle of Dogs, at the Skyline Village, Unit 27, Marsh Wall, E14 9TS.

The founder of the project is the eldest niece, Monica Olivieri, who learned to sell, communicate, create relationships, in that magical place of Nina's shop, and she now is eager to recreate that atmosphere at the moment online through her exquisite e-commerce, and soon in her first store on Isle of Dogs.
Monica is a food marketing expert and food event organizer, with a background in corporate restaurants and fine dining.
Together with Monica, her life partner, whose background is also fine dining, are managing this unique project that is very much a family affair.

The La Nina family has many children, not only Alice and Mia, they are all the children who come to visit us every day, leave us a drawing, eat a croissant, drink a babyccino and go home happy with their mothers and fathers. In La Nina's new location there is a real kids room where children can play, listen to fairy tales and celebrate their birthdays. And learn how to cook too!

Our Fridays with live music have become a eagerly awaited appointment in Isle of Dogs. We support music, young artists and sometimes you might even catch a gig by the owner, Monica, a part-time pop-jazz singer :)
